3/27/24 Great Neck Branch Calligraphy Class

On Wednesday, March 27, the Great Neck Branch of AYLUS volunteered at the Great Neck Public Library to help out at the last week of a Chinese calligraphy class. The class was held every Wednesday for three weeks., and taught by Professor Yixin Yuan. The class has a total of 12 students. This week, the class focused on traditional Chinese painting rather than calligraphy. Before the class started, the volunteers did many preparations. They cut up large pieces of paper into fourths, for the students. They also helped to set up the tables and chairs, and refilled paint. During the class, the students practiced a lot, so the volunteers were also constantly handing out new sheets of paper to the students. The volunteers also helped clean up by organizing and washing the supplies. They worked diligently from 6:30 to 9:00.

Volunteers: Serena Chen (2.5 hrs), Emma Ding (2.5 hrs), Maggie Xiao (2.5 hrs)
