AYLUS Auburn Branch volunteered at Food Bank of East Alabama on March 7, 2024

In Alabama 1 in 5 of all people age 65 and older live in poverty according to the U.S. Census. Seniors often find themselves having to choose between paying for necessities such as medication and food. The Food Bank of East Alabama (355 Industry Dr, Auburn, AL 36832) provides monthly supplementary food through 4 senior box programs in three counties.

On March 7, 2024, the AYLUS Auburn Branch volunteered for the Senior Food Program at the Food Bank of East Alabama, from 7 am to 12 pm. We assembled boxes, filled each on with a variety of food, and sealed them for delivery. We appreciate the volunteer opportunity provided by the Food Bank of East Alabama. It was a joyful experience to be able to help seniors during this Spring Break.
