San Diego Homemade food for Huaxia Chinese School Lunar year Celebration Event on February 10, 2024

To celebrate the 2024 Chinese Lunar New Year, Huaxia Chinese School organized a celebration event at Miramar College. On February 10th, the day before the event ,  members of the AYLUS San Diego Branch prepared a variety of homemade Chinese traditional foods for the event and organized a charity sale to raise funds in support of the “Library with Love” project, aimed at shipping books from the US to East Africa and building libraries in Africa.

Our members prepared cold noodles, sticky rice in lotus leaf, egg waffles, green bean cake, white fungus broth, preserved egg congee, red bean cake, chocolate cookies, Chinese flatbread, tea eggs, red bean rice cake, grilled intestines, bean jelly, spiced beef, egg tarts, and individually packed snacks.

The following members participated in the home-made Chinese Food event, with 2.0 volunteer hours for each: Andrew Zhou,  Hans Yang,  Max Yang,  Jessica Chen,  Eric Liang,  Eric Li, Felicity Chu,  Brianna Chu,  Maxwell Yang,  Emily Zhu,  Emmy Zhu,  Rongze Ma,  Andrew Xu, Derek Chen,  Angela Li,  Kevin Kan,  Lauren Kan,  and Xinyuan Zou.
