Riverside County AYLUS Members Return to Volunteer at a Local Food Bank on February 2nd, 2024

Sophie Chung, Sierra Kusek and Evan Chang returned on February 2nd, to the Community Mission of Hope, a local food bank to volunteer. The members sorted through food and packed differend boxes to be donated. They packed various items such as baked goods and fruits. After filling an entire cart, they then went to the back of the pantry to weight the goods before bringing them out to the parking lot to be donated. After this was done, they helped clear the pantry from things like the trash bins and other items that needed to be moved in order to clean the floor.
Finally, they swept and cleaned the floor with brooms before leaving.

People in our community who are vulnerable, some of them who might be single moms, the elderly and families with a single income, have been struggling to find affordable food options. Therefore, the work that the local food banks are doing are more important than ever. By hosting this food drive our branch is trying to extend their help to the pillars that support the community.

Volunteers:
Sophie Chung, Evan Chang and Sierra Kusek (3 hrs. each)
