On Jan.15th, West Essex AYLUS hosted a card for hospitalized children table at the Livingston Day of service event.
The Livingston Committee for Diversity & Inclusion (LCDI) held its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Day of Service on Jan.15th at the Livingston Senior and Community Center, where many organizations conducted service projects and several speakers shared thoughts on equality and peace.
Mayor Al Anthony welcomed attendees and thanked LCDI members for organizing the event, including event co-chairs Alyse Heilpern and Simone Anthony-Brown, who reported that more than 200 community members attended throughout the day.
The LCDI expressed gratitude toward the following organizations “for their outstanding contributions” to this year’s event:
- Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States (West Essex Chapter) — Crafted 136 cards for hospitalized children and collected yarn donations to create winter hats for babies
