Great Neck Branch clears invasive bamboo 1/13/24


This week, the Great Neck Branch of AYLUS volunteered at the Valley Stream State Park. They helped to clear the area of invasive bamboo, which grows extremely fast. Some volunteers helped to cut down the bamboo, and others helped move the bamboo away to be cleared. The volunteers cleared a large area of the invasive species, through excellent teamwork. The volunteers worked hard, clearing the invasive bamboo from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm.
