AYLUS Great Neck Planting Fields Arboretum 1/27/24

This week, the Great Neck Branch of AYLUS visited the Planting Fields Arboretum. They helped to clear the area of invasive plants, and of many other dead plants to help the native, living ones thrive. Some of the invasive plants included porcelain berries and oriental bittersweet vines. The volunteers were very diligent, and used a variety of shears, rakes, shovels, and saws to clean the area. Some simply used their hands to gather all the vines, branches, and other debris from around the area. The volunteers worked hard, clearing the invasive plants from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Volunteers: Serena Chen (2.5 hrs), Zoe Xia (2.5 hrs), Andrew Qian (2.5 hrs), Tinglan Chen (2.5 hrs)
