Greater Princeton AYLUS MLK Day of Service-Helps Community Food Bank Food Pantry and Thrifty Stores (114th) in January 2024

In January, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) volunteers continued to help our local community at Community Food Bank of New Jersey (31 Evans Terminal Road #1, Hillside, NJ 07205), Mercer Street Friends Food Bank (824 Silvia Street, Ewing, NJ 08628), Princeton Community Kitchen for Low-Income Families, and Rise Food Pantry & Thrift Store (133 Broad Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520).

GPA members donated non-perishable foods, helped hand out and carry out food boxes, helped set up, guide clients through and clean up the food distribution. Shopping and helping others go hand in hand at Rise! Stop in for a few hours or spend the day-lots of volunteer opportunities to fit their skills and schedule. Lots of tasks to help keep the shop going.

GPA Volunteers (NJ Community Food Bank, Maplewood, Princeton Community Kitchen, Rise Pantry & Thrift Store): Richard Da (1/13, 5 hrs; 1/14, 4 hrs), Emily Zhang (1/15, 4 hrs), Amy Chua (1/15, 3 hrs), Max Chua (1/15, 3 hrs), Xiaohui Zhang (1/15, 4 hrs)
