Class Summary
On January 13th, 2024, members of AYLUS Puget Sound finished the final session of the 2024 AMC 8 Prep course! Classes have run weekly throughout the course of 5 weeks each Saturday from 5:00 PM through 6:30 PST.
Our 2024 AMC 8 Prep was taught by instructors Christina Liu and Raymond Zhu. The instructors teamed up to create topic-specific slideshows, compile problem sets, write a mock contest, and communicate with students. In the past few weeks, we have gone over the four main subtopics of competition math — number theory, algebra, geometry, and combinatorics.
Approximately 20 to 30 students attended class each week.

HOURS SUMMARY

Raymond Zhu taught Counting Principles for the AMC 8 for 1.5 hrs on Saturday, January 6th, 2024. Christina Liu was present as a TA, answering questions for 1.5 hrs. They spent 4 hrs before class to prepare notes. After class, both discussed contents for the next class, answered questions over email, uploaded recordings, and sent class announcements for 2 hrs.
Christina Liu and Raymond Zhu spent 6 hrs for creating an AMC 8 mock exam and
preparing full solutions on, Sunday, January 7th, 2023 and Friday, January 12th, 2023.
Christina Liu and Raymond Zhu spent 1 hr proctoring an AYLUS AMC 8 mock test and 1 hr explaining solutions. After class, both answered questions over email for 2hrs.
