AYLUS Oakland Gardens Branch Hosted Fundraiser (01/05/2024)

On Friday, January 5th, 2024, members of the AYLUS Oakland Gardens Branch sold balloons in order to raise enough money for the African Library Book Drive Event. The weather during that time was quite chilly. However, there were still many people.

We raised $147. The best selling items were balloon swords, frogs, and pikachus. We sold all the balloons for either 1 dollar or 2 dollars each. All the parents and children were very supportive of our goal, and some even bought more than one balloon.

We sold these items to raise money for our book drive. To transport the books to Africa, we needed some money. We needed around 500 dollars plus shipping costs. Yesterday, we raised just a bit of the money needed. In the future, we will continue hosting fundraisers such as this one to support our book drive.
