Murrieta AYLUS Volunteers at Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley #14– ABWK Senior House Yard Work(12/02/2023)

Reported by Adora Xiao:

On Saturday, December 2, Murrieta AYLUS members lended a hand to Habitat for Humanity’s senior yard work project.
They began the day with a project meeting where the volunteers were split into groups. During the meeting, some of the volunteers received recognition for their participation in many Habitat for Humanity events. After heading to the project site, they began with trimming a lemon bush. After trimming the shrub to a circular shape, they cleared away the branches that were cut off. They then went to work clearing out the yard’s grass and weeds. Uprooting the plants carefully, they then collected the remains of the weeds into buckets before dumping the contents into the master pile on a tarp. Afterwards, they went to work clearing out spiky branches of trees that other volunteers had trimmed. Dumping the branches into a trash can that was then emptied at the tarp, they collected all of the stray branches. The senior living at the home was ecstatic to see the product of the work.
