AYLUS Dix Hills works with Clark Botanic Garden to clean up fallen leaves on November 25, 2023

The AYLUS Dix Hills Branch partnered with Clark Botanic Garden to help clean up the park from the leaves scattered across it. A continuation from their work last week, volunteers today worked to help rake up leaves into giant piles around the park. Given that there wasn’t a way to dispose of the leaves at the time, volunteers instead worked to get all of the leaves into giant clumped piles so they wouldn’t be blown away by the wind. This is so that it is easier to clean up the leaves in the future, once there’s a way to clear out the piles. Volunteers worked from 9:30 to 12:00 to help form giant piles of leaves around the area, so people wouldn’t find it annoying to walk around the park.

Volunteers: Bryan Fan (3 hrs), Ming Chen (3 hrs), Min Zheng (2.5 hrs), Tiger Wu (2 hrs), Leroy Fu (2 hrs), Jeffrey Fang (1.5 hrs), Jeremy Fang (1.5 hrs), Eric Gao (2 hrs), Samuel Wang (2 hrs), Sara Kong (2.5 hrs), Ru Xue Jiang (2.5 hrs), Fiona Lin (2.5 hrs), Jonathan Li (2.5 hrs), and Seungmin Cheon (2.5 hrs).
