On Saturday, November 11, Murrieta AYLUS members manned a water station at the Temecula Half Marathon and 5K.
Grabbing volunteer shirts, the volunteers boarded a cart to their first stop in the water stations. Mixing the electrolyte drink and pouring the water, they greeted the runners as they passed their first checkpoint. They provided energy gel drinks, electrolyte drinks, and water for the runners to take with them. As all runners passed the first 3 mile mark, the volunteers folded up and cleaned the first station before moving to a different water station. They took the cups and pouches to the runners as they passed so the runners could continue on quickly, and eventually as the crowd thinned out, the volunteers hitched another ride back to the starting line.
