The AYLUS Frisco and Plano Branch is the only book drive(UG5-64) that matched with the Uganda Container for the shipping window from October 1st to November 15th and they are thrilled that we are helping them!
On October 30th, 2023, members of the Frisco & Plano AYLUS branch congregated to sort and package donated books for our project with Libraries With Love. We spent the majority of our time packing boxes with already sorted books and making sure that we have them written down with all of the data for each one. For example, the weight of the box, how many books, and which grade level the books are for. We also spent a fair amount of time sorting books so we can package them in the future. A good amount of the books that we sorted were deemed not suitable to be sent to Africa, which is unfortunate, but we are overall making good progress with sorting all of the books in the one garage. The next step forward would be to ship all of the books that we’ve packaged so far over to Africa. A big thank you to all the people who came together to make this event possible!
