Frisco & Plano Branch Advocated and Educated All of Us Research Program at zTao Asian Supermarket on October 28th 2023

Reported by Jenny Wang

Together with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), we are calling on the AANHPI(Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders) communities to help make history and change the future of health. The health data we share will be added to the All of Us Research Program database. Researchers can access this data to conduct studies. This could help them see how different things, like environment, lifestyle, and genes, can impact health. This may help develop new medical treatments that are unique to each person.

On October 28th, 2023, we gathered together at zTao Asian supermarket to advocate and educate the All of Us research program. We had three shifts, 10 am-12 pm, 12 pm-4 pm and 4 pm-6 pm.  We offered free cotton candy or a balloon animal as incentives to get more people to sign up. This led to there being great success in collecting sign-ups. Overall, this event was a resounding success. We spread the AYLUS spirit to local communities of north Dallas.
