On October 29, 2023, members of AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered for the trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park.
It is close to Halloween and there was a trick-or-treat party at Evelyn’s park parking lot.
From 5:30pm to 6:30pm, volunteers wore gloves and used old grocery bags as trash bags to collect trash from areas including the sidewalks, play area, and parking lot of Evelyn’s park. It is not surprising to find candy wrappers around the park because of the Halloween. Additional trash that was collected often included plastic straw wrappers, bottle caps, napkins, bottled water, a book, and a gift box. Volunteers also found many cigarettes on the sidewalk along the parking lot. Volunteers covered the whole park, and each member collected two bags of trash, each bag of trash weighing between one to two pounds.
The following volunteers participated in this event (1 hour): Alexander Tang, Daniel Wu, Owen Cheng, Christopher Dai, Chase Sun, Jason Chen, Zhen Li, Delbert Nie.
