On October 8, 2023, members of AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered for trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park.
Evelyn’s park had a Gala event on October 7 and the office staff is very happy that AYLUS Bellaire volunteers are able to help clean up after the event.
From 5:30pm to 6:30pm, volunteers wore gloves and used old grocery bags as trash bags to collect trash from areas including the sidewalks, play area, and parking lot of Evelyn’s park. Trash that was collected often included plastic straw wrappers, paper plates, bottle caps, and pieces of styrofoam. Volunteers also found many cigarettes on the sidewalk along the parking lot. Volunteers covered the whole park, and each member collected one bag of trash, each bag of trash weighing between one to two pounds.
