AYLUS Roslyn helps out at a School of CCA of Long island (29th) on October 22nd, 2023

On October 22nd, 2023, The Roslyn AYLUS branch partnered with The Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island, as scheduled from 1:30 to 5:00 PM.

Assigned as teacher assistants, our job is to make sure students are behaving when the teacher is teaching, and also assisting children if they are having trouble understanding the subject. We also have tasks such as taking attendance, taking and passing back their homework, bringing kids to the bathroom, and running other errands. Teacher assistants have an important role in making sure the teacher is able to teach without disturbance and providing the students a comfortable learning environment. Although our main responsibility is to keep the classroom a safe and clean environment, we are also responsible for helping students with their needs. Being able to communicate with students can make it easier for them to express their needs to us. We must learn to be patient and responsible with the students we watch over. It is a pleasure working with others to grow into better people, and create a better community for everyone.
