Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (31th) (10/21/2023)

Reported by Adora Xiao :

On Saturday, October 21, Murrieta AYLUS members lended a hand to the Community Mission of Hope.
Arriving early, the volunteers sought to get the pressure washer started. After the stations were set up, they got to work washing crates. In the middle of the work, there was a short meeting with all volunteers at the site, where they got the privilege of meeting a shark attack survivor. First the crates were given a quick hose down, then others went in to give them a thorough scrub. Bits of sticky food residue and stray stickers had to be scrubbed off, and any stubborn pieces that remained were remedied with a more precise wash of the crates. After washing, the crates were knocked against the pavement to shake off excess water before they were stacked on the pallets. The volunteers were careful with their work, and ended up washing 2 pallets with the help of some other volunteers who stopped by periodically.
