On Sunday, October 1, Murrieta AYLUS members volunteered at local senior centers.
At Torrey Pines Senior Living: The volunteers began with light exercise, before taking water and juice to all the residents. Thickening a few of the drinks for the residents who had trouble swallowing, the volunteers helped hand out the drinks and helped some of them drink who couldn’t hold the cup. After clearing the cups, the residents were given the daily chronicle and they all read together. After reading, the volunteers enjoyed some trivia games about a multitude of topics. After taking all the residents to the dining rooms, the volunteers were given a card of appreciation for their efforts.

On Sunday, October 8, Murrieta AYLUS members volunteered at local senior centers.
At Torrey Pines Senior Living: The volunteers helped the residents get settled and begin their exercise, then passed out water and juice. Some of the juices were thickened with powder and the volunteers helped some of the residents who were unable drink. After hydrating, the residents were given crackers, which some opted to save for later. After the snack, the residents read the daily chronicle together. The volunteers took the residents outside to enjoy the fresh air, and some took a walk around the courtyard. After some light conversation, the residents were then taken back inside for lunch.

On October 8 , 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members helped out at their local senior center.
This time, they helped with the ice cream social. Members brought out the toppings, cups, spoons, napkins, and the ice cream scooper, and got ready. Members happily served anyone who came in for ice cream and talked with some seniors. Some people thanked members for their hard work. Members loved seeing the seniors and look forward for their visit next week!
