Columbus Branch Participated in the All of Us Education Event on October 30th 2023

This is a collaboration project with AYLUS-Pearland branch and a few other AYLUS branch

All of Us Research Program is a program by the National Institute of Health (NIH). It aims to provide a national research resource to inform thousands of research questions, covering a wide variety of health conditions. A diverse cohort of 1 million or more participants will contribute data from electronic health records (EHRs), biospecimens, surveys, and other measures to build a comprehensive set of biological, environmental, and behavioral data. The data platform will be open to researchers all over the world. However, the participation from Asian Americans have been slow. In order to promote the awareness of the program in the Asian American community, Light and Salt Association works with AYLUS to educate the community, in person or visually.

On October 30th, Volunteers Vivian Chen (educated 3), Eason Wang (educated 9), Vicky Wang (educated 9), Brenna Li (educated 9), and alumni member Aidan Li (educated 9), each educated adult Asian Americans about the All of Us program in person or visually. At the end of the education session, the persons being educated filled out a google form confirming their knowledge of the program as a result of the education session and provided their names and email addresses. Each of them educated 9 Asian American adults. The information have been submitted to Light and Salt Association through AYLUS-Pearland (Advisor, Carol Li).
