On Sunday, September 17 at Torrey Pines Senior Living Center: The volunteers started with their exercise regimen. They used pool noodles and stretched out their arms and legs, making sure the residents’ joints were limber. After the workout, the volunteers poured drinks of cranberry juice or water. For some of the residents who needed thickened liquids, a thicker concentrate was used. They passed out all of the drinks, then the volunteers took off to print the daily chronicle. After the copies were received, they handed out the copies to the residents. After reading together, they ran a video of cat trivia for the residents to enjoy. After listening to a musical performance, the resident did a short sing-along and the volunteers transported them to the dining hall.

On September 17th, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members helped out at their local senior center.
Members headed toward the library to start. It was a pretty slow day and there weren’t any seniors around but members continued to play and some staff members at the senior center dropped by to appreciate the music. In the second half of the piano playing, some seniors joined the members and hummed along with songs they found familiar. After, members talked with some seniors, who promised to mark members’ next visit on their calendars.
