NOT A VOLUNTEERING EVENT, NO HOURS FOR THE PARTICIPANTS-AYLF
September 3, 2023: Four of the founding members of the newly approved Ridgewood, NJ branch held their first-ever meeting. They learned the core values of the AYLUS, as well as other essential components needed to become a successful branch in the near future. Eleventh grader Victor Yu served as a student mentor, being already part of the Princeton AYLUS branch. The topic of our first event was also discussed, and we thought of many possible ideas. Volunteering sessions to help the elderly, libraries, and food banks were some of the brainstormed ideas. Our founders also schemed to recruit new members to expand our branch of the AYLUS, hopefully reaching a total of around 10 members by the end of this year.
