On the afternoon of August 27, 2023, AYLUS Frisco & Plano branch members gathered to make egg tarts for the first time to raise funds for the African Library Project. We baked egg tarts three times with different recipes and various baking times. One of the recipes won the popular votes to be the best. The egg tarts were then sold to AYLUS group members and family members. Our TweeTea Boba Shop will be grand opening on September 9 and this was a pre-grand opening sales event for actual making and selling of egg tarts by providing both examples of and the necessary steps to properly make egg tarts in the future. Though the nonprofit TweeTea Boba Shop has currently not opened yet, AYLUS group members hope to handle community orders for egg tarts when the time comes in order to help fundraise the African Libraries Project.
