Frisco & Plano branch sorted and packed 300 books to be shipped to Kenya for the Libraries with Love organization on July 30th 2023

Reported by Lillian Qian

On the afternoon of July 30, seven members of the AYLUS Frisco-Plano branch sorted and packed books to be shipped for the Libraries with Love organization. Over 300 books were individually sorted, counted and packed into thirteen 12X12 media boxes in preparation for shipment to Kenya. Books for children between 4th and 8th grade were accepted. By the end of August, hundreds of books will be shipped to Kenya through the Libraries with Love organization.  We optimized each box to contain the maximum amount of books under the weight limit of 30 pounds.  On top of each box, we marked the number of books, the grade level and the total weight in pounds.

Parents worked together to provide homemade food for the volunteers. Their hard work and dedication is appreciated greatly. We thank them for their care. We also thank the volunteers for their diligence.
