AYLUS Syosset Teaches Another Language Class Session For Learners Interested in Chinese, 7/30

On the Sunday evening of 7/30/23, Syosset AYLUS volunteers taught Chinese from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm to numerous students wishing to learn the language. About 20 students gathered on this day to listen in to the lectures provided, ranging from elementary to high school students. Due to the large number of students, the teachers divided the students into two groups based on age. In the group with older students, topics such as numbers, family members, self-introductions, colors, animals, foods, clothes, weather, directions, body parts, and time were discussed. Meanwhile, in the second group with younger students, the teachers read aloud a Chinese children’s story and asked the children to elaborate on their understanding. Many students– especially in the younger group– showed great enthusiasm and joy in participating. At 5:00 pm, class time was temporarily halted for a fifteen-minute break. By the time the class concluded, both groups were left with greater language proficiency.
