AYLUS Bellaire volunteered to clean up Evelyn’s Park on July 23, 2023

On July 23, 2023, members of the AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered for the seventh consecutive trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park.

From 5:30pm to 6:30pm, volunteers wore gloves and used old grocery bags to collect trash from Evelyn’s park. During this cleanup, they frequently picked up bottle caps and straw wrappers. A volunteer also found an empty tequila bottle and a cracked phone screen (no phone) in the parking lot next to Mulberry Lane. Since many people were eating in the dining area, volunteers stayed away from the area to avoid disturbing them. In addition, some rain fell at the beginning of the cleanup, but the sky cleared soon after.

Excluding the dining area, volunteers covered the entire park. They collected seven bags of trash, each bag weighing between one to three pounds.

The following volunteers participated in this event (1 hour): Alexander Tang, Yuruo Shen, and Edward Cai.
