On Saturday July 22nd, The East Pittsburgh Aylus Branch partnered with The Westmoreland Food Bank in our ongoing commitment to serve the community. A group of enthusiastic volunteers dedicated their time and energy to help pack boxes with essential food items for those in need. The objective of our volunteer engagement was to support The Westmoreland Food Bank in their mission to alleviate food insecurity in our local community. The specific tasks involved sorting and packing a variety of food items into boxes that would later be distributed to individuals and families facing food insecurity. The core task involved packing boxes with a balanced selection of non-perishable food items while boxes were moving by conveyor belt. Other volunteers were placing boxes down the conveyor belt while others were putting food items inside. By contributing our time and energy, we helped The Westmoreland Food Bank enhance their distribution process, enabling them to reach more vulnerable members of the community.
Volunteers: Joshua Chen, Reagan He, Eliot Chen, Evan Chen (all 2.5 hours)
