AYLUS Bellaire volunteered to clean up Evelyn’s Park on July 2, 2023

On July 2, 2023, members of AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered for the fourth trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park.

At around 5:30pm, shortly after members met up, it began pouring rain. However, members voted to continue the-clean up despite the bad weather. So, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, volunteers wore gloves, carried umbrellas, and used old grocery bags as trash bags to collect trash from areas of the park including the dining area, waterpark area, and both parking lots. Most volunteers worked with another volunteer so that one volunteer collected trash while the other held the umbrella for both of them. Volunteers frequently collected plastic straws and plastic straw wrappers, bottle caps, and band-aids. Volunteers covered the whole park, and each member collected one bag of trash, each bag of trash weighing between one to two pounds. The rain ended at around 6:05pm.

The following volunteers participated in this event (1 hour): Alexander Tang, Yuruo Shen, Raymond Han, Yuze Han, Mike Weng, Arjun Chibber, Andrew Liu and Andrew Chen.
