On May 28th, several AYLUS Manhasset members volunteered to take care of all the plants planted at the community garden at Clark Botanical Garden. We made sure that some members had been allocated to bring tools before, and others brought plants and containers for the others to work with. The items were distributed, and the process of weeding the garden was carried out by all members. After this, we introduced some new plants and made arrangements to erect trellis-like metal constructions for the beans, tomatoes and other plants which needed more support. Finally, they were all given a thorough watering to help ensure that they were going to grow well, despite the almost constant summer heat.
