Fort Bend Branch – “Plant a Tree and Spread the Green” Initiative #4 – June 17, 2023

On June 17, 2023, AYLUS Fort Bend Branch members Ethan Li, Bryan Wang, and David Chen planted a white oak tree in Memorial Park at Sugar Land, Texas. During the event, volunteers received guidance and assistance from a Texas Master Naturalist named Kevin Peters on the intricate process of planting a tree. In the process, volunteers learned how to prepare the soil, hydrate the rootball of the sapling, and mulch the newly-planted tree. Branch members will implement Kevin’s advice in future planting projects.
