From June 6th to June 8th, 2023, AYLUS Bellaire volunteers went to tutor Ed White Elementary students in summer school.
Many of the students that were in summer school did not pass their grade, so they had to make up for it here. Volunteers were sent to different classrooms to help the teachers teach a variety of subjects, such as English or Math. Volunteers individually tutored students as well as aided classroom instruction. The volunteers also watched over the students during recess and lunch. The volunteers were there every day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
