Frisco & Plano branch fundraiser event at Frisco Commons Park on June 11th, 2023

Reported by Jenny Wang

In spite of the heat, we continued to hold our fundraiser event at Frisco Commons Park on Sunday June 11th 2023.

On the morning of June 11th we discussed our fundraiser strategy regarding shaved ice.  The cost of ice and syrup were raised a lot.  However buyers tended to choose either shaved ice or cotton candy due to their limited budget. Our shaved ice was priced at $2, thus our profit would be lower if they chose shaved ice instead of cotton candy.  So we decided not to offer shaved ice this time to test the market reactions.  Then we bought ice, purified water and mixed lemonade and got ready for the fundraiser.  The water park recently opened at Frisco Commons Park.  Parents often took kids there to play in the water park.  So we decided to set up our stand near the entry of the water park. Undoubtedly our best seller was the cotton candy even if our best flavor blue raspberry was sold out. Many kids were waiting in line for freshly made cotton candy.  The second best seller was our handmade gemstone bracelets.  After we greeted a group of people and told them the purpose of our fundraising, they immediately bought 5 bracelets for their kids and praised us that “You guys are doing a great job!”.  Lemonade was also very popular due to the hot weather. We were so happy about what we contributed to our branch and spread the AYLUS spirit to our local communities.
