On Saturday, June 10, the AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered at Books for Development from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Books for Development is a nonprofit organization that focuses on shipping donated books across the world to schools and libraries in need of them. The organization donates books to developing countries such as Uganda and Kenya after discovering the lack of literature these countries have. Books for Development also donates books to prison libraries that do not have much access to literature.
Volunteers from AYLUS Bellaire helped sort donated books by their genre and packaged them to be ready for shipment at the Books for Development warehouse for 3 hours.
