On Tuesday, June 6th, Edmond branch member Julia aided the Southwest OKC Pioneer library with its summer programs. Today, she helped staff with a music education program for younger children by passing out instruments and helping the kids stay engaged. In addition, she gathered books for a book display for a future program aiming to help children ages 4-5 prepare for kindergarten. Besides her in person volunteer work, she completed a 20 minute online training tutorial that showed basic library tasks such as shelving and creating a pull list. She will continue her involvement with the Pioneer library’s summer education programs in order to prevent summer slide in children and aid their educational advancement.
