North Fulton AYLUS Helps Improve Global Health at Medshare on March 31st and June 1st, 2023

To kick off the summer, North Fulton volunteered at Medshare, a humanitarian aid organization with a mission to enhance the quality of life for people, communities, and our planet by sourcing surplus medical supplies and equipment and directly delivering them to underserved communities worldwide. With nearly half of the world’s population lacking access to essential health services and supplies, our volunteers joined their cause on March 31st and June 1st.

During our time at Medshare, our dedicated volunteers diligently sorted through a wide range of medical supplies. We checked expiration dates, examined materials, and categorized each item, ensuring that everything was well-organized and ready to be efficiently sent to underserved communities. Additionally, we worked together to carefully package the medical supplies, ensuring they were properly prepared for shipment.

Within the warehouse, our volunteers took on the task of counting and logging inventory. Diapers, underwear, soap, umbilical cord clamps, scalpels, and countless other items were accounted for. The volunteers also organized storage boxes, ensuring that everything was neat and easily accessible.

Through this rewarding experience, we aided underserved communities while gaining a deeper understanding of the global challenges at hand.
