Columbus Branch Participated in City of Dublin Community Service Day on May 6, 2023
AYLUS Columbus continued their yearly tradition of participating in Community Service Day. Every spring, the city of Dublin organizes Community Service Day to assist residents — especially those who are older or disabled — local businesses, and schools who request outdoor help.
This year, about a dozen student volunteers joined the citywide initiative, along with several dedicated AYLUS parents who helped supervise, drive, and take pictures. The AYLUS volunteers split into two teams and traveled to several locations; at each volunteer site, they helped with services such as removing weeds, spreading mulch, cleaning walkways, moving items, raking leaves, trimming bushes, planting flowers, and more.
This event was one of the first outdoor events of the calendar year. It was a great opportunity for AYLUS members to enjoy the warm weather, to meet a variety of other volunteers and residents, and to give back to the community that they live in. The Columbus branch looks forward to continuing this wonderful work in future years and bringing a little bit of extra joy to Dublin every spring.
