In April 2023, the San Francisco South Bay Branch–members Shannon Guo and Willow Hsu–participated in Council Member Pam and Mayor Matt Mahan’s cleanup along the Guadalupe River. Certain sections of the Guadalupe River intersect the road, forest, and are subject to lots of human foot traffic as well. Because of this, the amount of trash was incomparable from before. There were piles of tires, plaster, cans, balls, fertilizer, hair dyes, and even human feces. Combined with the local eagle scouts and many trash cleanup organizations, the area was completely cleaned in record time.
