On Tuesday, March 14th, officers and leads of AYLUS Pearland visited the Light and Salt Association office to discuss and plan the logistics of the health fair sponsored by the LSA, AYLUS Pearland, and the All of us Research Program on April 15th that will be hosted at Ed White Elementary. This health fair is hosted to offer medical attention to Hispanic families that might not have adequate access to healthcare or, whose healthcare costs are too high.
LSA will offer health services where they will not only educate the public but also offer free cancer screenings and medical attention if needed. In addition, AYLUS will host a family event where kids and their parents can play games for prizes and purchase food. Participants will also get the opportunity to get involved in the All Of Us Research Program that focuses on health research to one day treat and prevent disease.
Some topics discussed were what preparations must be made and by who, which organization will manage which station at the event, and what training must be conducted beforehand to ensure a successful event.
