On December 21st, Dr. Chang, the principal of Ed White Elementary School, invited AYLUS volunteers to watch their Winter Showcase to celebrate the holiday season along with the students and faculty. It was a joyful performance with the volunteers watching students from all grade levels singing and dancing in multiple holiday numbers. The volunteers even recognized some of the students that they have tutored in the past.
AYLUS Pearland has been actively tutoring Ed White Elementary students on Saturdays during regular semesters and also daily during the summer camp. It has been a fruitful two years of partnership. Dr. Chang told AYLUS volunteers that the elementary students have greatly improved on their standardized test scores since the tutoring programs.
