AYLUS Pittsburgh Branch Spreads Christmas Joy to 16 Refugee Families on December 3rd, 2022

On December 3rd, the AYLUS Pittsburgh group volunteered at the First Presbyterian Church of Duquesne. The church invited refugee families who came from a place where Christmas wasn’t celebrated. We wanted to introduce these people to the holiday as well as bless them with plenty of gifts and activities. Including the East AYLUS volunteer members, there was a total of 23 volunteers. we had 4 stations of fun and educational activities including a photobooth, decorating and eating sugar cookies, Christmas matching game, and origami/paper cutting. We played a variation of musical chairs, and handed out useful gifts to everyone at the end of the program. I’m sure the families had a great time as all of the volunteers there also had a blast!

AYLUS volunteers: Joshua Chen(4 hours), Quan Tian(4 hours), and Evan Chen(4 hours).
