For the past four weeks, the AYLUS Greater Buffalo Branch hosted AMC 8 Preparation Sessions for students grades 8 and under who are planning to compete in an upcoming competition. Every Friday at eight PM, Emma Zhang, the instructor, met with students on Zoom to review questions from the 2018 AMC 8 edition. In addition to providing a detailed explanation for each question, the instructor reviewed important concepts to memorize and strategies for taking the competition.
The questions reviewed covered algebraic word problems, geometry, statistics and logic. On average, there were 10-15 students who attended each session. The sessions will continue throughout the next few months.
