Reported by: Yicheng Liu

Canyon Crest Academy High School had initiated a sneaker drive event, aimed at collecting 100 pairs of used sneaker, for the support of refugees and homeless people in need. In support of this, The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the donation event at school on October 10, 2022.

The donations received through this event will help put 100 pairs of shoes on the feet of the refugees, who are fleeing war, persecution and political upheaval, who have crossed borders to seek safety in another country. Through this event, AYLUS volunteers learned how the items they see as worthless could hold meaning for others and demonstrated their support in welcoming refugees into their new communities.

Members that participated this event (1.0 hour for each) were: Yicheng Liu, Enke Luo, Enze Luo, Brigitte Shi, Helena Jiang, Selina Pan and Andrew Chen.
