Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (6th) (10/8/22)

Reported by Julie Lu

On October 8, Murrieta AYLUS members KaiXi (Cathy) Liu, Jessica Lu, and Hsin Chen (Julie) Lu lended a hand to a local food bank.

After helping out at the animal sanctuary, the members made their way to the food bank to help out. Due to the approaching holiday season, the staff (Cathy) wanted to re-arrange some of the items on the shelves, to move all the food in the main store to the food section on the side of the store, so they can have the holiday season items be displayed in the most conspicuous aisle that no customer will miss them when they enter into the store. There were many cereal boxes, canned/bottled drinks, canned food, spices, cooking oil, etc. Members had to re-organize the current food section in order to gain more space and to place the items with similar ones to make shopping easier for the customers. Members were able to empty 2/3 of the long aisle by the time they have to leave. Members were told to come back again next week for more work to be done!
