AYLUS Pearland Teaches at Light and Salt Association’s SMILE Classes July 26, 27, and 29

On Tuesday, July 26th, members of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States of Pearland volunteered at the SMILE program at the Light and Salt association. In the morning session, the students learned the basics of music theory like how to read notes on a music staff. Many of the students found it very interesting. Later in the afternoon, the students learned how to dance and had a blast doing it! 

On Wednesday, July 27th, members of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States of Pearland volunteered at the SMILE program at the Light and Salt association. In the morning, the students played many fun games, one of which being Pictionary. In Pictionary, one person must draw anything they want on the board and the other students would have to guess it. In the afternoon, the students practiced their Spanish speaking skills with the teacher. 

On Friday July 29th, members of AYLUS Pearland volunteered for the SMILE PROGRAM at the Light and Salt Association. To off the day, Aila Jiang and Tina Dong taught life skills with a creativity sparking drawing game similar to telephone but with pictures and words. Next, Erica Gao and Haoqi Zhang taught arts and crafts through paper folding. During the afternoon session, the students watched the movie Megamind while indulging in popcorn.
