We all have precious memories of receiving a gift. Even the smallest present can mean a lot to us. After all, receiving a gift means that someone recognizes and appreciates you. They took time out of their schedules to bring joy to your life, and they want to share their happiness with you. Plus, the act of giving is satisfying in itself. The look of pure joy on the recipients’ faces is just as worthwhile as receiving a gift.
Members of the Gladstone Branch (Travis Xue, Castor Yuan, Angela Xu, Jenny Xu, Duc Nguyen, Ben Chee) kept this in mind while composing cards to children in hospitals. They wanted to remind these hospitalized children that, even though there is a lot going on in the world, that they are not forgotten and that there are people who care about them.
