Phoenix AYLUS Organized Winter Clothing Drive in January 2022

With the arrival of the new year, temperatures are as cold as ever. Unfortunately, combined with the recent increase in COVID-19 cases due to the spread of the Omicron Variant, many families are struggling to pay for winter clothing. To aid these families, AYLUS Phoenix members organized their annual winter clothing drive to help provide more affordable clothing options to their community. Eager to get started, Annie and Sophia Chen started designing the flyer for the event, working with advisors and board members to coordinate the effort. Once everything was ready, the Winter Clothing Drive began on January 2nd, 2022. Members collected and organized their various clothing items which were later sent to local Goodwill stores. Numerous bags of shirts, pants, shoes and more were donated to Goodwill stores around Arizona. So far, the winter clothing has received around bags in donations from AYLUS Phoenix members and their families with donations being accepted until March 1st.

AYLUS volunteers who donated to this clothing drive include Annie Chen (6 hours: 4hours for donation, 2 hours for flyer, coordination and report), Sophia Chen (5 hours: 4hours for donation, 1 hour for flyer), Leo Wang (3 hours), Kristopher Luo ( 3hours), Ethan Wei (2hours), Wengting chen (2 hours); YongFeng Chen (2 hours)
