AYLUS San Diego Continues Online Challenge Camp (94th) on the First Week of January 2022

During the first week of January, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, Math, coding, and history or foreign languages such as Spanish, and musical and artistical guidance to interested students.

They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language, or understanding the concepts of math, history or coding. Their challenge camp activities included:

Ryan Hua tutored Darren Cui (absence), Tristan Shi, and Max Zhang on Asian History on Sunday, 1/8, for an hour and a half.

Austin Pierce tutored Eva Mather, Linda Yang, Alice Yang, and Max Zhang on 5th grade English reading and writing on Sunday, 1/8, for an hour and a half.

Eric Lin taught Daniel and Kenneth piano for one and a half hours on Sunday, 1/8, for an hour and a half.

In total, there were 13 participants in this event, with 3 volunteer.

The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 94th online Challenge Camp activity on the first week of January 2022.
