AYLUS Birmingham Continues to Support Adopted Garden (September 25, 2021)

Over the summer, the AYLUS branch in Birmingham, AL gladly took the opportunity to adopt a garden within the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Previously, branch members planted new fauna, harvested crops, and cleared weeds. This weekend, on September 25, AYLUS returned to the gardens to continue the cultivation of several types of crops and fauna, as well as removing weeds. With the help of volunteers from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, AYLUS was able to plant 9 plant varieties, totaling over 30 individual plants. Though AYLUS Birmingham only maintains one section of the garden, AYLUS Birmingham wants to put this land to the best use: for visitors to admire and to cultivate crops to give to food charities around the Birmingham area.
