AYLUS Manhasset Tends to Community Garden (Ecology Research at Clark Botanical Garden) 7/30/21 #5

On 7/30/21 the AYLUS Manhasset Branch tended to the community garden at Clark Botanical Garden. This time, members brought their pets to see how they would interact the garden.

As usual, we tended to the garden by watering the plants. We also noticed the tomato plants in particular were having trouble staying upright and some tomatoes already fell off the vine. We noted that the tomatoes should be ripe next week.

As members brought their pets, we also observed how the animals reacted to the plants in the garden by feeding them cherry tomatoes that were ripe. Since the animals were different species (bearded dragon and turtle),  we also watched them to see how they would interact.

The members that participated were Loretta Liu (1 hr), Matthew Yang (1 hr) and Joana Yang (1 hr)
